Through the years

This morning I woke up to find that one of the most iconic singer songwriters and musicians had passed. Kenny Rogers died this morning in his room at age 81. He died of natural causes and was with his family uptown

The only good thing you can say about that is that he did not die of the coronavirus but of natural causes.

There was no denying his presence in the country music scene in the 1970s and 80s and I’d like to share one of my favorite songs by him. The first time I heard it I was a kid and although the sentiments and this summer very mature it really struck a nerve with me even at 10 years of age. Here it is with lyrics if you want to sing along
